boq
/boq/
Definitions
1. excrement, the waste matter discharged from the bowels — TSKBYA v1p465 marks the whole entry сёл. and adds эриши сёз, 'an ugly word'. Elbrusoid row 4079 writes груб. on its fourth reading only, so coarse is carried by that sense alone.
- boqğa tiyseng, iyis eter — if you touch dung it will stink
- boqnu analizge berirge — to give a stool sample for analysis
- boq iyis etedi — the excrement stinks
2. dung, animal droppings gathered and spread on the land
- qoy boq jerge jaraydı — sheep dung is good for the soil
- tuwar boq bla qabırğalanı sürtdüle — they smeared the walls with cattle dung
- boqnu baçhağa çaçdıla — they spread the dung on the garden
3. rubbish, the litter and sweepings of a household
- üy boqnu atarğa kerekdi — the household rubbish must be thrown out
- üy boq — household rubbish
- boqnu sıpırğandıla — they swept up the rubbish
4. a worthless or contemptible thing — Elbrusoid row 4079 marks this fourth reading перен. груб. and TSKBYA marks it кёч.; the груб. label belongs here and nowhere else in the entry.
- bu iş boqğa sanala edi — this business was counted as worthless
- boqğa kirme, kirseng, etek kötürme — do not step in filth, and if you do, do not lift your hem
- boq sözge tıngılama — do not listen to worthless talk
