1. blessing, good wish, toast, greeting, congratulations — Elders speak it over someone at weddings and other gatherings, and the host or an elder speaks it over the table before eating and drinking. Before another noun it means congratulatory or for toasting: alğış telegramma a congratulatory telegram, alğış ayaq a toasting cup.
