comfrey, a medicinal herb used to treat sores and ulcers — Khapaev and Khapaeva 2022 give it both for rough comfrey (Symphytum asperrimum) and for common comfrey (Symphytum officinale). Its dark root is used in folk medicine in poultices for broken bones, aching joints and wounds that will not heal.
