stitchwort, starwort, chickweed — A name for wild herbs of the genus Stellaria. Khapaev and Khapaeva 2022 apply it to grass-leaved stitchwort (Stellaria graminea), greater stitchwort (Stellaria holostea) and common chickweed (Stellaria media); Khapaev and Khapaeva 2015 give it for greater stitchwort. These plants were used in folk medicine for coughs, skin and eye inflammation, and aching bones. one source
