secret, mystery; something hidden — Tenishev and Suyunchev 1989 and Guzeev 1996–2005 mark it as a Karachay word; Guzeev 1996–2005 refers it to jaşırınlıq "secrecy". Nevruz 1991 glosses it with adjectives, "secret, hidden, mysterious", the sense it takes before another noun. Proverb: jurt sözü jaşırım bolmaz "what people say does not stay secret".
