a kind of wild shrub, mezereon or alder buckthorn — Sources identify the plant differently. Khapaev and Khapaeva 2015 and 2022 identify it as mezereon (Daphne mezereum), and Tolgurova and Tolgurov n.d. as alder buckthorn. Nevruz 1991 describes a thorny shrub that grows on rocks.
