anı üçün
/anɯ ytʃyn/
1. therefore, that is why, because of that — Links a result to the reason just stated. Plain "for him" or "for that" (anı üçün tartayıq, let us drink to that) is the ordinary postposition phrase, not this sense.
- awruyma, anı üçün kelmeyme — I am ill, that is why I am not coming
- anı üçün keç qaldıq — that is why we were late
- anı üçün açıwlanadı — that is why he gets angry
- bilmeyse, anı üçün sorama — you do not know, and therefore I am asking
2. even so, for all that — Follows a concession, typically a conditional clause closed by da, and is followed by a negative verb: the thing conceded does not bring about what one would expect.
- ursala da, anı üçün jılamaydı — even if they hit him, he does not cry for all that
- aytsaŋ da, anı üçün kelmez — even if you tell him, he will not come for all that
- körse da, anı üçün toymaydı — even if he sees it, he is not satisfied for all that
