1. almasty, a demon of mountain folklore pictured as an old woman with long tangled hair; also a house spirit or wood goblin — In tales it is used to frighten children. As a house spirit the name is taboo and speakers avoid saying it aloud, saying üy iesi "master of the house" instead.
