Intended meaning
To make it impossible for someone to go on living in a place; to deny them a foothold there and force them out.
- Ollahiy, sen jetseŋ, Qardannı suwundan kişige tatdırmazsa.By God, if you get there, you will not let a soul taste the water of the Kardan.
- Busağatdan qolun-ayağın baylap, ekinçi qaytıb Qobannı suwundan içmezça eterge kerekdi [Temurqanı], – dep, sözü tawusulğanın bildire, Qıyamıt örge qopdu."We must bind him hand and foot this instant and see to it that [Temurkan] never comes back to drink of the Kuban's water," said Kyyamyt, rising to his feet to show that he had finished speaking.
