To pay no attention to what is said; to disregard someone or something and not care about it.
- Töben janından bir atlı kelgenin eslep, Samat qol boyununa buruldu. Anı saqlap turğan keziwde, munu aqılına köp türlü sağışla kirdile. Alay birine da qulağın burmay qoydu.Noticing that a rider was coming up from the lower side, Samat turned toward the riverbank. While he waited for him, many kinds of thoughts came into his mind. But he paid heed to none of them.
- Elde aman adamla söz çığarırğa bolurla, alağa qulaq burdurmay, işni askerdeça qatı bardırmasaŋ, artallı da jararıq tüyüldü.There may be bad people in the village who start rumours; unless you pay them no heed and run the work strictly, as in the army, nothing will come of it at all.
