To distress someone and cast gloom over their life; to make someone sorrowful.
- Alay jaşçıqnı anası Halimat, ne bek kelib tursa da, taw etegine tüşalmay edi. Ol edi jaşçıqnı jarıq künün qaraŋı etgen.But the boy's mother Halimat, however much she kept coming, could never come down to the foot of the mountain. She was the one who turned the boy's bright day dark.
