A child taken from infancy and brought up by someone other than its own parents, pampered and honoured in the fosterer's household (typically the child of a rich man or prince).
- Emçek ulannı jilyathan etgense dep, meni atama jüz çıbıq urğandıla.Saying that I had made the foster child cry, they gave my father a hundred lashes.
- Aqsaq Temir Sozarnı emçek ulanŋa alıb ösdürgendi.Lame Timur took Sozar as a foster son and raised him.
