Intended meaning
To refuse to bring disgrace on oneself out of attachment to possessions; to hold one's good name higher than property.
- Irıshıdan tuwmağanbız, – dedi Aydaruq sabır. – Sen tuwğan eseŋ da, Örüzmek, men tuwmağanma. Ol [Qanşaw] toyğa jalanŋaç kelse, betim uyallıqdı."We were not born of property," said Aydaruq calmly. "Even if you were, Öryuzmek, I was not. If he [Qanshau] comes to the wedding naked, it is my face that will burn with shame."
