Definitions
1. the side of something, the part of it that lies in a given direction — A lexicalized third-person possessive of таба; both dictionaries head it in this form. It follows the noun it belongs to (Волганы аякъ табасы) and takes case endings of its own.
- wolganı ayaq tabası — the lower reaches of the Volga
- mangılay tabası tar — narrow across the brow
- köknü qıbıla tabası — the southern quarter of the sky
2. a person others take malicious pleasure in, one who is mocked and talked about — Occurs in the frame X-ны табасы болургъа. Elbrusoid glosses ала ~ болмайыкъ with злорадство; the corpus uses it in flat narrative and in verse.
- ala tabası bolmayıq — let us not give them cause to gloat over us
- jaw tabası bolurğa — to become the enemy's laughing-stock
