1. a little, a bit, somewhat, slightly, for a while — Before an adjective it softens the quality, as in biraz qatı "somewhat hard".

2. part, portion — Used with possessive endings for part of a larger amount, as in birazı "part of it" and birazın bölürge "set part of it aside".

- birazı turadı — part of it is still there
- birazın bölürge — to set part of it aside
