ayüŋe
/ajyŋe/
well, come on, why, oh — An exclamation of puzzlement or mild reproach, contracted from ay üyüŋe. It often comes before a question, as in ayüŋe qalay bilmeyse "come on, how can you not know?", or after a statement, as in tawğa ketgendi ayüŋe "he went to the mountains, that's what". Nevruz 1991 translates it with Turkish good-wish formulas that are used as gentle reproaches.
- ayüŋe, qalay bilmeyse? — come on, how can you not know?
- ayüŋe, alay qalay etdiŋ? — why, how could you do that?
- ayüŋe, alay qalay aytasa — come on, how can you say that
- tawğa ketgendi, ayüŋe — he has gone to the mountains, you see
- juq joqdu, ayüŋe — there is nothing, come on
