skewering, the act of threading meat on a skewer for roasting — This is the verbal noun of şişlerge. It is used of meat, as in kiyik etni şişlew 'skewering game meat' and qaq qabırğanı şişlew 'skewering dried ribs'. Tenishev and Suyunchev 1989 marks it Balkar, but Guzeev 1996–2005 and Nevruz 1991 give it with no regional label.
