Days of the week
The seven days, each built on kün (day) — name the first word and you've named the day.
- baş kün Monday (literally: head day)
- geürge kün Tuesday
- baraz kün Wednesday
- orta kün Thursday (literally: middle day)
- bayrım kün Friday
- şabat kün Saturday
- ıyıq kün Sunday
baş kün opens the week as the "head day", orta kün sits in the middle, and ıyıq doubles as the word for the week itself. The bare names baraz (Wednesday), gürge (Tuesday), şabat (Saturday), ıyıh (Sunday, distinct from ıyıq "week"), and juma (Friday) can also stand alone for their days, without kün.
